HealthTrack Privacy Policy
HealthTrack keeps your health records on your device. We don't run servers that hold your data, we don't create accounts, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.
This policy covers the HealthTrack app for Android and its web version. "We" means the developer of HealthTrack, Julius Francisco.
What the app stores
Everything you enter is saved in the app's private storage on your device:
- Names you give to the people whose health you track
- Profile details you choose to add: date of birth, sex, blood type, doctor, weight and height
- Health readings: temperature, blood sugar, blood pressure and pulse, with any notes and symptoms
- Medicines, dose schedules and the times doses were given
- Allergies and vaccinations
- Menstrual cycle days, only if you turn cycle tracking on for a person
We never receive any of this. It is not uploaded, backed up to us, or shared with anyone unless you share it yourself, as described below.
When data leaves your device
Only when you choose to send it:
- Share and export. When you share a summary, export a backup (CSV or JSON), or share a medicine list, the app passes it to the app or place you pick, such as a messaging app, email or your files. What happens to it there is governed by that app's policy.
- Sync with another device. You can copy a person's records to another phone with a file, or directly over Nearby Connections (Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth). A Nearby transfer only starts after both people confirm the same code on their screens. The records go straight from phone to phone and do not pass through any server we run.
- Android backup. If Android's own device backup is on, Android may include the app's data in your Google account backup, under Google's privacy policy. You control this in your phone's settings.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notifications, exact alarms, vibration | Medicine reminders at the time a dose is due. Reminders can show a medicine's name on your lock screen. You can mute a person's reminders in the app or turn notifications off in Android settings. |
| Ignore battery optimisation | Asked once, the first time you open the app, so reminders still arrive on phones that stop background apps. You can decline, or change it later in Android settings. |
| Nearby devices: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi state and, on Android 12 and older, location | Used only to find and connect to another phone when you start a Nearby sync. Older Android versions require location permission to scan for nearby devices. The app never reads, stores or sends your location. |
| Internet | Required by the app framework. HealthTrack does not send your records over the internet. |
Home-screen widgets show upcoming doses and recent readings, so anyone who can see your home screen can see them. Remove the widget if that's a concern.
This website and its contact form
This website is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, to run and protect the site. The site uses no cookies of its own, no analytics and no ads.
If you send a message through the contact form, Netlify stores your name, email, topic and message and forwards them to us. We use them only to reply and delete them once the conversation is over. To keep out spam, submissions are checked by Akismet, and the form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which collects information about your browser and device under Google's privacy policy. The app itself never uses the form or these services.
Third-party services
Nearby sync uses Google Play services' Nearby Connections on Android. Google Play services may collect device diagnostics under Google's privacy policy. The app includes no other third-party SDKs: no analytics, no crash reporting, no ads.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Records stay on your device until you delete them.
- Deleted records go to Deleted items for 30 days so a mistake can be undone, then they are removed. They can be kept longer if a synced device hasn't connected since, so a deletion isn't undone by that device later.
- Deleting a person, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app removes the data from that device. Copies you exported, shared or synced to other devices are not affected.
Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side.
Security
Data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read. The app has no PIN or encryption of its own, so anyone who can unlock your phone can open it. Exported files are not encrypted, so store and share them with care.
Children
HealthTrack is for parents and caregivers to record health information, including about children in their care. It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. Their records stay on the caregiver's device.
Not medical advice
HealthTrack is a record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat anything. Zones, flags and allergy checks are reminders to check, not clinical judgements. Always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. If we ever wanted to collect data, we would ask first in the app.
